Yoga Music & Kirtan with Sangita Devi
February 18, 2012 @ Augusta Road

Join Sangita Devi for a night of sacred chanting from the Heart at our Augusta Road location.

Kirtan is Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion, the path of the heart. It is a tradition and spiritual practice developed by the Yogis which can bring us effortlessly to a deep place of tranquility and ecstatic bliss by singing simple mantras in call and response.

Kirtan's beauty is the ability to bring community together, singers and non singers, and create a space that opens the voice and connects us in harmony. Everyone can participate, regardless of age, musical ability or cultural background. The purpose of the practice is to get out of our heads and into our hearts.

While it is true that we can sing these chants in the solitude of our own home, there is nothing like the magic of chanting with live musicians and a gathering of community singing in harmony. Join us for this interactive performance!

Times: 6-7:30pm

Cost: $10 per person in advance; $15 at the door

Weekend Workshops with Meaghan deRoos & Gil Elhart
June 9, 2012 @ Augusta Road

Align With Purpose- Saturday, 10:45-12:45
Imagine yourself living a fully activated life, deeply grounded and aligned with your life purpose. If you let your imagination run wild what does that life look like? How can your yoga practice enhance and inspire your purpose? The practices of yoga encourage self-inquiry. When we find alignment in the asanas we release physical tension from our bodies enabling our creative energy to find freedom. It is from this place of increased freedom that we are able to sit still and quiet in meditation look within and uncover our greatest passion and purpose. This practice is designed to ground the body and mind through meditation and alignment in order to create space for self-inquiry and creative visualization. Leave feeling more connected to your body, your life, and your purpose.

Be The Change- Saturday, 3-5pm
The process of putting purpose into action requires skill and patience. We all operate differently and discovering how to live transformed can come through different means. When we are patient with ourselves we develop vital skills for powerful transformation. The yoga asanas teach patience while stimulating our inner fire (tapas) and a willingness to tap into our power. Finding our personal power is revolutionary, and often means overcoming our greatest fear: That we are brighter, more brilliant and powerful than we ever thought possible. We hold within us the capacity for monumental change. This practice will help you enhance your courage to move forward and be the change that you wish to see in the world.

About Gil: Gil began practicing yoga as an athlete in 2000. He immediately fell in love with the way yoga concentrated his awareness into his body and the nurturing balance that came with shifting from competition to connection. Yoga and meditation quickly became integral parts of his day. He became certified to teach following 7 years of embodying the yoga practice and lifestyle. Becoming a teacher was a natural transition that stemmed from his passion to share the powerful transformation that yoga and meditation had brought to his life. His classes are a liberating experience, where students will explore the art and science of yoga through sequences linked with intelligence and language that is deeply connected to spirit. He encourages students to approach yoga with a playful courageousness, in hopes of uncovering their own strength and divinity. Gil is known for his ability to bridge ancient philosophy with modern, practical teachings through story and humor. "I believe yoga is a path to illumination, where the illusion of separateness is dissolved and our truth becomes unification." Gil is abundantly grateful to his many teachers primarily Jacqueline Heisel, Seane Corn, Richard Freeman and his wife Meaghan de Roos.
