Teaching Prenatal and Postnatal Students with Liz Delaney
June 19, 2010
This will be a one-day training for yoga teachers who would like to learn how to modify their classes for pregnant students. Training will focus on all stages of pregnancy and postpartum, poses that work best for each stage and poses to avoid. Learn simple breathing techniques and poses to put pregnant students at ease. You will leave feeling confident in your ability to teach pregnant students when they walk in your class. CEUs available.
About Liz: Liz has studied Yoga since 2000. In 2002, Liz became interested in prenatal yoga as she noticed there was no one teaching this at the time. She found a teacher training at Yoga Vermont led by two yoga teachers and a midwife. This training was the perfect fit and perfect time since she was also pregnant with her first child. Liz returned to Charlotte and began teaching prenatal yoga at Sangati Healing Arts. Then when opening North Main Yoga, she developed Yoga for Women's Health, studying yoga for all women. She realized that prenatal yoga can benefit anyone at any stage of life. Liz is an E-RYT (Experience Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance and is registered to lead Teacher Training events.

North Main Yoga's Teacher Training Program
Begins September 2010
We are currently taking applications for our 200-Hour Yoga Alliance registered training. This program will be an in-depth study of Yoga. This includes history, philosophy, breathing, asana and meditation. Our training is based on the teachings we have learned from Max Strom and is a breath inspired, Vinyasa Flow training. In order to apply, you must have practiced with Liz and Brian two times each, or have attended workshops with Max Strom. This is to ensure that you are learning a style of yoga that resonates with you and something you want to learn more about.
Training will be one weekend per month and will take over one year to complete. When training is finished, we will continue a mentoring process to help you in your first years of teaching. This training is for people interested in in-depth studies, not simply receiving their registry with Yoga Alliance. Cost of training will include unlimited classes at North Main Yoga. Please open the link below for all information regarding this training.
If interested, please email your application to Liz at nmyoga@bellsouth.net and we will contact you with further information. All applications are due by August 1, 2010.
Time: 10:45am - 12:15pm (vinyasa flow class)
1:00pm - 5:00pm (discussion, lecture and hands-on application)
Cost: $2000 (We do have a payment plan available: Upon approved application $500 deposit & 10 payments of $150 per month.)
